I really think people want to wait till there is a crisis with anything before they act. Even if it were to cost a grand to have an audit done and to do some air sealing (provided it is done right) they would likely in your area recoup most of the costs the 1st year in AC saving not to mention the wear and tear on the equipment, then add on the improved comfort and possible air quality improvements and it's a no brainer, O'well if it ain't broke why change it.
