Asphalt Pavement Distress Summary – Asphalt Institute
This one is very nice as well. It shows types of distress, give a probable cause and a maintenance suggestion.
It seems almost every commercial property assessment we perform that has asphalt paving weather new, aged or in-between there are several deficiencies or concerns.
Many people take for granite nice asphalt pavement. Good pavement allows for a user friendly access, attractive Site and proper storm water drainage. Nobody likes pulling into a parking lot with large 6 inch deep pot holes. Or stepping out of your vehicle in your nice new shoes in a large puddle of water. The worst is during a rain storm or right after, trying to make your way into the grocery store or your favorite restaurant only to have water logged feet, socks and shoes!
Preventative maintenance also can save a property owner large chunks of money over time. Re-stripping parking spacing is also very important. Not to mention handicap spacing.
